Next Year...
This class is really fun the only thing that I would think to ever tell you to look out for is that you need to keep up with your homework! Having homework every night in this class is pretty easy you just have to make sure that it is completed on time. At the end after class is almost over you will be happy that you too this class because their are many different things to learn.

Picture That Lies
I choose this picture of a professional soccer player getting his leg shattered by a player on another team. I chose to make the changed I did because I wanted to try and make the tackle stick out as much as could to get my point across. This picture was originally taking during a premier league game in England. Many people like to make the point how soccer is not a contact sport, but I bet to differ. There have been many violent injuries just like this one so I tried my best to make it stick out with the neon colors because I felt like it would make it more important. This manipulation was not harmful, it was more of trying to make a point.

Power Point
First of all, all of the power points that I saw on tuesday were really good and I really liked each one.
I really like Aubrey and Monicas because they stood to me more than any of the other peoples. Monica used very nice photos to give an example of what she was talking about because most people do not have any clue what the right way to shoot a photo is. Also, she used very clear photos that showed the class how you should take photos and what you are looking for. Monicas was also very different that everyone else's which is another reason that I liked hers because she chose to do something different. And on top of that her power point didnt look like anyone elses in the class. She didnt have much writing on them . Aubrey also used great design in making hers and you can tell that she actually spent a good amount of time on what she was making. Aside from the little things, both of these power points were done well and presented well.

Power Points
I really do not pay too much attention to how power points look as long as they have the right information and they look appealing. Reading these articlas though let me know that there is more to a power point than meets the eye.
1. Do not read the slide word for word. It is better to go with the flow and get the point across rather than read a powerpoint word for word from a power point with tons of information.
2. Do not hand out written stuff at the beggining of the presentation. Rather than listening to your slides people will be reading the paper that you gave them.
3.Do not bullet anything on your slides. This is the most boring thing to see in a slide, use something other than the dot, seriously.
4.Try not to use the exact layout that microsoft gives you, everyone has seen it before and if you use somethign that is more original it will be sure to catch someones eye.
5.Be very particular about the images that you use, some images can be too detail and people will just look at those instead of listening to you. So pick good and very clear images that get your point across and are there for a reason.
These are some tips that I gathered together that I think contribute to a good powerpoint.

CLT Visit
When we visited the CLT lab today I was honestly surprised about all of the technology that this lab has and all of the things that you are able to do here. My own laptop is a mac and that is really all that I use so it was great to see a lab with apples. If I need to ever use a computer in the library now I will definitely be down here using these macs because to me they are so much easier. For our class I will be in here to do my homework and such because I have no yet figured out how to use the network on my laptop yet.
One interesting thing that I learned today was that they are installing cameras and voice recorders for each class room to record the lectures. Which for me would be very helpful because sometimes I do not want to wake up for my early class so now I could watch it on the computer as soon as they start that program in each class.
In the CLT there is also audio and film rooms that are strictly for doing exactly what you need done even with the most high tech programs and all up to date.
This visit was definitely very useful and I am glad I learned all that I did.

Excel
I actually did not know that you were capable of doing all the things I learned to do on excel. I'm glad that I did learn the tools so it can actually help me in the future if I need to do anything on it. Now with what I know I might even be able to help my dad who could really use excel to organize his business. Excel is a useful to anyone who needs to input numbers in a chart. I'm sure big business groups use Excel to sort and compute a bunch of numbers. Hopefully in the future I will put what I learned for excel in use when I do something. I am glad I learned it.

OPRAH!
I choose the a 1989 picture of Oprah on TV Guide magazine. I chose this picture because I think that it is really ridiculous that they actually would use someone else body with Oprah's face. This picture was originally a 1979 publicity shot and basically they sliced Oprah's head to put it on Ann-Margrets body who at the time was a actress. There is no reason exactly to why this picture was manipulated but I would think it was to make Oprah seem skinny. The manipulation was harmful I think because it makes Oprah seem like something she is not. Neither Oprah or Ann-Marget gave permission for this photo to be put on this magazine. Funny Stuff.
